Silk Peptide Powder | Hydrolyzed Silk Fibroin Manufacturer Headline: Hydrolyzed Silk Peptide Manufacturer | 100% Natural Silk Fibroin (CAS: 96690-41-4) Sub-info: Molecular Weight: 500-2000 Da (Deep Penetration) | Assay: ≥90% Protein | Soluble in Water USP: Instant Absorption • Natural Moisture Retention • Shiny & Silky Texture
Introduction

Silk Peptide, also known as Hydrolyzed Silk, is a highly purified natural protein extracted from the cocoon of the silkworm (Bombyx mori). Through controlled enzymatic hydrolysis, we break down the tough silk fibers into smaller polypeptides with a low molecular weight (average 1000 Da).
Unlike high molecular weight Silk Powder which only sits on the surface, our Water-Soluble Silk Peptide penetrates the dermis and hair cuticle, delivering essential amino acids (Glycine, Alanine, Serine) directly to where they are needed most.

Functions
1. Deep Moisturizing (NMF Mimetic)
Silk peptide structure is similar to the skin's Natural Moisturizing Factor (NMF). It binds moisture strongly, preventing transepidermal water loss (TEWL) and keeping skin hydrated and plump.
2. Skin Brightening & Repair
Rich in Alanine and Serine, it helps suppress the formation of tyrosinase (melanin precursor), promoting a brighter, more even skin tone. It also accelerates wound healing and cell regeneration.
3. Hair Conditioning (Gloss & Strength)
The peptides bond with the keratin in hair, forming a protective crystalline film. This repairs damaged cuticles, adds a "silky" shine, and improves elasticity, reducing breakage from combing.

Applications
Skincare (High-End):
• Serums & Essences: For rapid absorption and instant hydration.
• Face Masks: Provides that premium "silky" feel on the skin.
Hair Care:
• Shampoos & Conditioners: Claims of "Keratin Repair" and "Mirror Shine".
Color Cosmetics:
• Liquid Foundations: Improves spreadability and prevents makeup from caking/drying out.

Flow Chart
Raw Silk Cocoons (Degumming) → Washing → Enzymatic Hydrolysis (Protease) → Filtration → Decolorization → Purification (Ion Exchange) → Concentration → Spray Drying → Sieving (200 Mesh) → UV Sterilization → Packaging
Note: We remove Sericin (the sticky outer layer) during degumming to ensure the final product is non-allergenic and pure Fibroin.

Method of Analysis of Lactoferrin
• Protein Content: Determined by the Kjeldahl Method.
• Molecular Weight Distribution: Analyzed by GPC (Gel Permeation Chromatography) to ensure the peptide size falls within the effective penetration range (500-2000 Da).
Reference Chromatogram of Lactoferrin Reference Substance
(Description): A high-quality chromatogram for Madecassoside shows a sharp, symmetrical peak at the target retention time. Impurity control is strictly maintained, with Asiaticoside levels kept within specified limits to ensure the anti-inflammatory potency of the Madecassoside fraction.
Stability and Safety
Stability Studies
• Shelf Life: 24 months.
• Compatibility: Highly compatible with anionic, cationic, and non-ionic surfactants. Stable in a wide pH range (4-9).
• Storage: Store in a cool, dry place. The powder is hygroscopic; keep bag sealed.
Safety & Handling (MSDS Summary)
• Classification: Non-hazardous cosmetic ingredient.
• Safety: Biodegradable and non-toxic. Patch tests confirm it is non-irritating to sensitive skin.
• Handling: Standard GMP hygiene.

FAQ
What is the difference between Silk Powder and Silk Peptide?
Silk Powder is physically milled silk (insoluble), used for makeup texture (oil absorption). Silk Peptide is chemically hydrolyzed (water-soluble), used for skincare absorption and hair repair. This product is Silk Peptide.
Is this vegan?
No. It is derived from the cocoon of the silkworm (Bombyx mori). However, it is a natural byproduct of the silk textile industry, making it a sustainable choice.
Can it be used in clear lotions?
Yes. Because of its low molecular weight (<2000 Da), it dissolves completely in water to form a transparent solution, making it perfect for clear toners, serums, and gels.
