With its natural source, stable characteristics, and customizable solutions, Plant-based phytosterol powder supports diverse industrial applications and meets the growing demand for reliable plant-based ingredients.

Phytosterols (Plant Sterols) are natural bioactive compounds structurally similar to cholesterol but found exclusively in plants. Our Phytosterol powder is extracted from Non-GMO vegetable oils (Soybean or Pine) through a rigorous crystallization process.
Widely recognized by global health authorities (including the US FDA and EFSA) for their ability to lower LDL cholesterol, our product is the premier choice for formulating heart-healthy dietary supplements, functional dairy products, and cardiovascular pharmaceuticals.

Functions
1. Cholesterol Reduction (Heart Health)
Phytosterols compete with dietary cholesterol for absorption in the intestines. By blocking cholesterol uptake sites (micelles), they significantly reduce serum LDL ("bad") cholesterol levels by 8-15% without affecting HDL ("good") cholesterol.
2. Prostate Health
Rich in Beta-Sitosterol, our phytosterol complex inhibits the enzyme 5-alpha-reductase, helping to support healthy urinary flow and prostate function in men.
3. Anti-Inflammatory & Immune Modulation
Phytosterols exhibit immunomodulatory effects, helping to balance the immune response and reduce systemic inflammation, which is beneficial for overall wellness.

Applications
Functional Foods (Fortification):
• Dairy & Spreads: Margarines, yogurts, and milk drinks enriched with sterols for heart health claims.
• Bakery: Heat-stable for use in healthy snack bars and breads.
Nutraceuticals:
• Softgels & Tablets: High-density powder for cardiovascular support formulas.
• Men's Health: Combined with Saw Palmetto for prostate support.
Cosmetics:
• Anti-Aging Creams: Restructures the skin barrier and improves elasticity (structural similarity to skin lipids).

Flow Chart
Raw Material (Vegetable Oil Deodorizer Distillate) → Esterification → Crystallization (Cold fractionation) → Filtration → Washing → Drying → Milling → Sieving (80 Mesh) → Blending → Quality Control (GC Assay) → Packaging
Note: Our purification process removes potential allergens and ensures a neutral taste and odor profile suitable for food applications.
Quality Standard of Lactoferrin
| Item | Specification | Result |
| Appearance | White to off-white powder/granules | Conforms |
| Total Sterols (Assay) | ≥ 95.0% | 96.2% |
| Beta-Sitosterol | ≥ 40.0% | 45.8% |
| Campesterol | ≤ 30.0% | 22.1% |
| Stigmasterol | ≤ 25.0% | 18.5% |
| Loss on Drying | ≤ 3.0% | 1.2% |
| Heavy Metals | ≤ 10 ppm | < 5 ppm |
| Microbiology | ≤ 1,000 cfu/g | < 100 cfu/g |
| Residual Solvents | Meets USP <467> | Conforms |
Method of Analysis of Lactoferrin
We employ Gas Chromatography (GC) for the quantitative analysis of total sterols and the distribution of individual sterols (Beta-sitosterol, Campesterol, Stigmasterol).
• Why GC? It provides the high resolution needed to distinguish between structurally similar sterol molecules, ensuring accurate labeling compliance.
Reference Chromatogram of Lactoferrin Reference Substance
(Imagine a detailed GC Chromatogram)
The chromatogram clearly separates the peaks for Campesterol, Stigmasterol, and Beta-Sitosterol. The high baseline stability confirms the absence of significant impurities or oxidized sterols.
Stability and Safety
Stability Studies
• Shelf Life: 24 months.
• Conditions: Stable at room temperature when stored in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
• Oxidation: Phytosterols can oxidize if exposed to air and heat for prolonged periods. Our nitrogen-flushed aluminum foil packaging minimizes this risk.
• Test Data: Samples tested at 24 months showed Total Sterol content >94.5%.
Safety & Handling (MSDS Summary)
• Classification: Non-hazardous, GRAS (Generally Recognized As Safe).
• Handling: Avoid creating dust. Wear safety glasses.
• Storage: Keep containers tightly closed. Store below 25°C.

FAQ
What is the difference between Phytosterols and Phytosterol Esters?
Phytosterols are the free form (powder), having a higher melting point and lower oil solubility. They are ideal for tablets and capsules. Phytosterol Esters are esterified with fatty acids (liquid/paste), making them fat-soluble and perfect for adding to margarine, dairy, and softgels. We supply both forms.
What is the source of your Phytosterols?
We offer two sources: Soybean (most common, cost-effective) and Pine (Soy-free, hypoallergenic). Both meet the same purity standards (>95%). Please specify your preference when ordering.
Can we make a "Cholesterol Lowering" claim?
Yes, in many jurisdictions. For example, the US FDA allows a health claim for products containing at least 0.65g of plant sterol esters per serving (or 0.4g free sterols) when consumed twice a day as part of a diet low in saturated fat and cholesterol.
