Introduction

Chitosan is a linear polysaccharide composed of randomly distributed β-(1-4)-linked D-glucosamine and N-acetyl-D-glucosamine. It is produced by the deacetylation of Chitin, the structural element in the exoskeleton of crustaceans.

Our Chitosan is distinguished by its high degree of deacetylation (D.D. >90%), which directly correlates to its biological activity and solubility. We offer specific molecular weight and viscosity grades tailored for dietary supplements, agriculture, and cosmetic formulations.

Functions

 Weight Management (Fat Binding)

Chitosan carries a strong positive ionic charge. In the stomach, it binds to negatively charged dietary fats and bile acids, forming an indigestible gel that prevents fat absorption. This "fat magnet" effect makes it a popular ingredient in weight loss supplements.

 Agricultural Biostimulant

In agriculture, Chitosan triggers plant defense mechanisms (systemic acquired resistance), boosting immunity against fungal infections. It also stimulates root growth and improves crop yield, serving as a natural, eco-friendly alternative to chemical pesticides.

Wound Healing & Hemostasis

Chitosan possesses intrinsic antimicrobial and hemostatic properties. It promotes blood clotting and accelerates tissue regeneration, making it an essential material for medical dressings, bandages, and surgical gels.

Applications

  • Nutraceuticals:
    • Fat Blockers: Capsules taken before meals to reduce calorie absorption.
    • Cholesterol Support: Helps lower LDL cholesterol levels.

  • Agriculture:
    • Seed Coating: Protects seeds from pathogens and enhances germination.
    • Foliar Spray: Elicits natural defense responses in crops.

  • Water Treatment:
    • Flocculant: A natural chelating agent used to remove heavy metals and suspended solids from wastewater.

Flow Chart

Raw Material (Crab/Shrimp Shells) → Washing & Crushing → Deproteinization (Alkaline Treatment) → Demineralization (Acid Treatment) → Chitin → Deacetylation (High Conc. NaOH) → Washing (Neutralization) → Drying → Milling → Quality Control (Viscosity/D.D.) → Packaging

Note: We use a controlled temperature deacetylation process to ensure a uniform distribution of amino groups without degrading the polymer chain length.

Method of Analysis of Lactoferrin

  • Deacetylation Degree: Measured by Potentiometric Titration or H-NMR. This is the most critical parameter determining the product's solubility and charge density.

  • Viscosity: Measured using a rotational viscometer (Brookfield) in 1% acetic acid solution.

FAQ

How long does it take to see results?

The time it takes for a dietary supplement to show effects varies from person to person, depending on factors such as age, constitution, lifestyle habits, and dosage. Generally, consistent use for 2-4 weeks may lead to initial improvements (such as increased energy levels), but to achieve more stable results, it is recommended to continue taking it for at least 3 months. Health maintenance is a long-term process, and consistency is key.

How should it be taken for optimal results?

Take with or after meals to enhance bioavailability and reduce potential gastrointestinal discomfort. Please be sure to read the detailed instructions on the product label and follow our recommendations.

How can I identify the quality of your [Ingredient Name]?

We are committed to: • High Purity Standards: Using standardized extracts to ensure stable content of active components [e.g., a specific glycoside/acid]. • Third-Party Testing: Each batch of raw material is tested by authoritative third-party laboratories to ensure it is free from excessive heavy metals, pesticide residues, and microbial contamination. • Traceability: Our raw material sources are clearly traceable.
